Default BF 2x4 and 4x4 indicators flashing

My 750 BF started flashing the 2x4 and 4x4 dash indicators today while riding in 2x4 mode. The lights flash alternately. Turned the quad off and restarted and it went away. After riding for a while it comes back on. What does that mean?

First thing to do is clean up all the electrical connections to the cdi, 4wd actuator and engine braking actuator. If that doesn't do the job you will have a warrinty issue. In the manual it shows different flashing sequences for different problems. (ie: 1 second flash, 1 1/2 second flash, 2 second flash). One sequence is for 4wd actuator, one is for the engine brakeing and if I remember one sequence is for both. Anyway to make a long story short, even though my engine braking actuator seemed to be working ok, the code indicated it was bad. Kawi replaced under warrinty and the problem went away. Although the actuator seems to be functioning alot. I will be watching it closely. Hope this helps you.

while not a BF, mine is similar. flashing display 2wd-4wd. I put it on a jack and 4wd is working. that led me to the ebs. I needed to use it so I did, now the flashing display has gone away, to be replaced with a battery drain coming from the ebs actuator. time to get the warranty issues solved.

has anyone had simililar problems, and by pulling the ebs fuse, managed a workaround untill repaired?
2002 650, b model.

found a older post a page back, about applying direct voltage to the ebc. I'll try that. still covered by extended warranty. problem is that I need to use it for jobs I do. Thanks Hayashi..

MyBrand New 2005 Prairie 700, has 28 miles on it, 2wd, 4wd lights alternatly flashing. Shifter is hard to move, feels like belt is not releasing on pulley's. Will pull itself along nicely at a low idle in gear. I am really not happy about this at all. I'll be calling the dealer at 9 this morning to come and get this 4 wheeler, and get it fixed.

Got home from work today, Prairie is all better. I'm thinking that I had a loose connection. I pushed all the connectors together to check to be sure they were all engaged. Washed wheeler yesterday after spilling a rum and coke on it, water might have been the culprit. I fretted all day today thinking that I was going to have to carry it back to the dealer and be really mad that a 28 mile, new 4 wheeler was already broken down. All is well!
