As I understand, ATVs are street legal in certain parts of Europe...so I'm guessing (if they ever make these vehicles) that they would sell these types of vehicles in Europe before they ever hit the shores of America.

Yes they are and thats why polaris has a line of ATVs like the sportsman 500 and what not that come standard with brake lights, turn signals, and mirriors.

but there is no reason an ATV/car of that sort could not be ridden/driven on tyhe roads here. require and endorsement i dont really care. but it should be allowed. certain states in our union allow atvs to be converted and used on not interstate roadways.

I definitely agree with you to a point. Seems to me that most ATVs sold in the US are designed for offroad use only (outfitted with very soft suspension, mud tires, etc.) and so I'd much prefer to see a street legal designed quad (like the concept vehicle posted above) be approved for legal use on US roadways instead of most ATVs made today which are not intended for street use...at least, that is my opinion.

I envision the market much as it is with 2 wheel bikes. there would be ...
super sport roadway ATV
Touring roadway ATV
Dual Sport ATV
and the two classes of atvs we have now
sport and utility

Batman, Your ATV is ready.
That thing is just plain cool. I think it's a bit heavy for any dune ridding and I don't think electric motors will hold up to well in a swamp, but for a Sunday cruise down the boulevard it will defiantly make heads spin.
