I would still preder the lakota when mudding because of the bigger tires, the decent ammount of bottom end power because its a utility based engine and especially the semi auto tranny becasue it wont stall and the manuel tranny can cause quite a bit of problems when it stalls on a real steap hill so especially for someone whoes not great with a clutch the lakota migt be a better choice for that kinda thing. basically each quad has its ups and downs and i dont hate warriros, infact i almost sold my lakota and bought one when i started doing alot of track riding and racing thru flat trails because i like the 6 speed and cluth but i decided to keep the lakota and mod it because i like to see the reaction on peoples faces when i beat them because most people underestiamte it because of its smaller size. but as far as mojavemadman you still have said nothing tyo back yourself up and your postes still make no sense and assuming you have a stock mojave i highly doubt you can beat my lakota and im shure other not as cocky mojave owners will agree. Anyways.....walker did you make a choice yet?
stock 4 stock i think my mojave will ruin you but if i had all the same mods as you i would ruin you. i can loose my friends in 3,4 gear in a drag and he has a "01" wolverine with a cobra exuast system and jets.so yours is a 300 lokota and my friends is a 350cc. and mine 3,4 gear i can loose him . The only problem is there is no such thing as a 350 lakota or are you talking about the wolverine?. If you would really think about it you should be able to beat the wolverine because first its shaft drive so you loose power there and second it is always in 4wheel drive so you also loose power there. So far to my knowledge I have the biggest bore lakota but not for long once greg gets his stroker crank done . Right now i beat the warriors but once i can get gregs true high comp piston and not the crap one i got from fst i should be able to hang with a stock 400ex.

with a cobra exhaust you dont get any performance what so ever and all the jets are doing is giving him better throtle response...so he is gaining nothing... its always 4wd and its shaft drive as well like NEWDUCK said so you should have no problem beating him...stock for stock the mojave is faster than the lakota yes...but when both the lakota's and mojave have the same mods on...and you takes some of the weight off the lakota than they will be about even...with just a pipe, jets, bigger carb and a bigger front sprocket it wakes the lakota up like you wont believe...and lakota is spelled LAKOTA not lokota!!!

first off...why don't you just get the better bike to start with if you want to hang with a 400ex? because by the time you get all the mods on it you'll spend more than if you just bought the better, faster bike.
second...why would you want to take a lakota and put all the mods on it anyways? thats like taking a volkswagon and spending a crap load of money so you can hang with a mustang!.....moral of the story: just get the better bike!

mojavemadman stop making your self look like an idiot and you shouldnt be bragging about being able to beat a 350cc 4x4 utility quad, you should be able too.....if you beat a p650 then thats somthing you brag about and i bet that wolvy has pulled you outa some muddy situations too where you would have been screwd it the wolvy wernt there, thats what smaller utility atv's are ment for not 4 dragging unless its modded and all a cobra pipe does is make added noise and nothing else......your buddies money could have been better spent burning it.....corbras are just good stock replacements thats all and i raced a piped mojave when i only had a pipe and jetts too and we were even it just depended on who got the better start

I agree with this. With all the money sank into your lakotas you could have had much faster and better handling stock quads for same or less money. Thats why I didnt put much into my warrior & prob. not the quadracer either unless its reliable then I might make it a go fast quad.

Here is my total for my build
1200 for the lakota
400 for all the parts and free labor
about 280 for my pipe
that adds up to 1880. I dont know about you but ive never seen a 400ex that low in price.

How is your lakota a 345 and you only put $400 into the engine? carb is like around 2 and Im sure you would need a bore kit to get that. Did you bore it out .55 and think that adds 55cc?
