Default KFX700 rear shock too damn stiff! How do I fix it?

My buddy's 05 KFX700 LE rides like a tank. I noticed tonight there's a valve on his shock. Can I let some air out of it to get a better ride or what?

DO NOT let air out of the shock. You can try to adjust the little screw on the side of the shock. Do one click at a time.

Opening that valve will be pretty costly. Take out some preload from the shock, and soften the compression some if he has that capability.

Why is the valve there? Can you measure the appropriate PSI?

Don't try and take a reading. It does not have air in the shock, it is filled with nitrigen (wrong spelling). When you try to take a reading it will let just a little bit out and it will then have to be refilled to the correct pressure to work correct. Not sure what the correct pressure is, but it is somewere between 150-250 psi. Work with the compression and rebound setting to change the shock. Might even try the setting the sag.
