Default skid plates

I just fabbed up some skid plates out of "space aged" polymer plastics.
I placed a piece of remaining material on the ground, and then swung my axe as hard as I could.
I just scratched it a bit!

I will be field-testing it this weekend on a long run. We will stay overnight, then another 6hrs to get home. There will be mud and rocky hills. This 12hr excursion will let me know what I must tweak. They are longer than armordillo skid plates.
It overlaps the rear diff, which I fabbed its own skid plate.

Polymers wear better than aluminum and steal. At Inco, we changed most of our pipes for nickel concentrate to polymer. YES they do wear to, but the pipes last 10x longer. Pumping 98% Nickel concentrate is comparable to sandblasting the pipes inside out.

These polymers plastic is also used for bash plates and wear plates for our chutes and bins. Imagine hundreds of TONS of nickel and Hard Rocks falling and bashing your skids plates.

Polymers do not transfer energy as readily as steal or alloys.

I used 3/16" thick polymer, from the upper front lip (by the winch), right to the rear diff.
I am thinking of sale them if their is interest.

Is there a trail system down there that is easily accessible for a non-local? My better half is from Capreol and wants to visit, I'd like to ride down there if I could. If there is, are there maps available?

Here are some pics I took today.

I took my Prairie for it's 1'st ride with the new skid plates. It does make a difference in the
deep mud. It is like strapping a tobaggon under your atv.
