Default Brute Force Problems

My buddy has a Brute Force 750. We all went on an ATV run and we were getting into some pretty messy holes. There is one called Pappys and we all were taking turns trying to go through. He went through it once and didnt make it very far. We pulled him out and I set up for my run. I made it farther than him but not the whole way through. They pulled me out, and he said he would try again if I did. I agreed and made my run. I made it completelly through exept for the last 3 feet. I ran out of ground clearence and got hung up. Anyhow I get pulled out and turn around to see him go into it and his machine just dies. It completely shuts off and wont start. He gets pulled out to find that his machine will not start at all. His air cleaner was completelly soaked with water and mud. Someone suggested we turn it on end to drain the water out. So we do this and it still wont start. It eventually started but not without having to spray something into it. We continued down the trail, we were only a couple miles from the end. He had the thing full throttle the whole way back, and most of the rest of us were only using 1/2. He brought it home and changed all fluids and the spark plugs along with the air cleaner. He said that it is still having problems. It is cutting out and back firing at certain points in the throttle.

I thought that maybe since he changed the air cleaner, would he have to rejet and that account for it cutting out. Or would it maybe a carb adjustment of another sort. It might not even be a carb problem at all. IF anyone knows anything that might help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cobra

Hey thanks, I would assume he did that because he told me he chaged and drained everything. I will ask him though about that, he might have forgotten.

I did the same thing, you have to pull the bowls off and clean them and the jets, they were full after draining the carbs.

He just got his quad back from the dealer. He said it needed the carb cleaned. Too bad they charge 200 bucks for a carb cleaning. Oh well, at least it runs now. I know he is definitelly staying away from any kind of water for a while.
