Are you positive that the 4X4 is not working. Just because the light is flashing doesnt mean that the 4x4 is broken. try putting it in 4x4 and feel for it when riding. If it works you know it is just your engine brake actuator or somthing. My light flashes but the 4x4 works so instead of wasting my money on a new actuater i just taped off the 4x4 light and dont even knowtice it. My e/b actuater works some but not all the time but if you give it a slight amount of gas on the hills you get the engine breaking.

This happened twice. When I tried to engage 4x4 with the light blinking it wouldn't engage. I did engage after i restarted the bike. a KVF 360 4x4

When a slight bump up in throttle is applied it causes the centrifical clutch to engage thereby connecting the engine to the drive train. These newer machines have electronic gizmo's that are supposed to do that for you, but from what I have been seeing they appear to be more trouble than they are worth. My 2000 praire 300 does not have these electric gizmos (thank God) however when going down steep inclines I just nudge the throttle up slightly to engage the clutch and the engine compression takes over. When we were down in Hatfield/McCoy I was able to keep my downhill speed under 7 mph on the steepest downhill without brakes or only slight braking. The big plus for me is no electronic gizmo's going haywire. With all that I have read I have talked myself out of a newer machine, as I have had NO problems with my older praire.
