Failed Engine Braking

Failed Engine Braking
I have a 700 and have had trouble losing engine braking of course always down hill. It feels like it slips out of gear to neutral. When I give it a little gas it comes back. I have also noticed that the 2w 4w light will blink back and forth. Is anyone else having this problem? They tell me I need a $350 computer module.

Yes, i do. Mine will do that everyonce and awhile. I just got in the habite of giving it throttle when decending. Somtimes it works and somtimes it doesnt. I put a peice of electrical tape over the 4wd light because i hate seeing that light flash. I like the set up i have now. The engine braking actuater would be like 200 $ to fix and i dont need it so my way is fine.

behind the CVT vent is a plug for your KEBC unplug it and clean the connections then plug it back together. Mine does the blinking when I unplug it.
When you shut the quad off do you here the little whine for a second as the engine brake resets. Try that and let us know, most likely its something simple. If I were a betting man I would say you dont need a computer of any kind.

Failed Engine Braking
I took my 700 out today and checked for the whine. It did. I wrode it for quite a will in some very steep areas here in West Virginia and the engine braking worked every time. I had it in the shop this past week and they reset everything but when I took it out that night I lost engine braking a couple of times. so it's been very sporadic and the light still blinks sometimes.
