Pipe for Prairie 360 4x4
#1
Hi all...
Was looking for suggestions on putting a pipe on my 360.
I like the sound of the pipes and I am looking for just a little more umph when I stretch out her legs on the long straights...
Biggest fear is losing that great torque. Is this a valid concern?

sounds like your talking from experience?
I don't need a rocket, but I do have a speed addiction....
what do you think about larger tires too, for in the mud...will power help with those...
I've been told not to go to crazy that some tires may be to much to spin and you loose the locking front end when that happens???

I have the HMF penlend series. I would say if you want more sound thats fine, but if your looking for power your not going to see much of anything from the exhaust. Its nothing like the two strokes. Its definatly not a very good bang for the buck mod on these quads. The power loss from bigger tires will exceed any gains you might get from exhaust.
Im not trying to be a stick in the mud, just letting you know in advance not to expect much on the buttometer. It might sound faster though. Now if you modified the airbox, cam, big bore, ect then exhaust would need to be modified or replaced to get rid of the increased airflow. Also you normaly have to rejet with exhaust which can sometimes be a pain to get it right.
I like the sound of mine (most of the time) but I probably wouldnt make the purchase if I had it to do over.
I would get some good 25 or 26" tires and enjoy that low end grunt and new found traction and handling. (tires are a nice bang for the buck.) look at the mudlites, they are lighter than most, do well in all terain, ride pretty smooth, and can even come in 25" with big lugs.
