Default 750 Blue smoke at start up

I have had trouble with my brute blowing blue smoke out of the exhaust for a few minutes after start up for the last couple weeks. I did change over to mobil 1 10w 30 synth. oil the last time.

I also was told over filling will cause this problem. The dealer told me not to screw in the dip stick when checking the oil level. If I do that, then I'm ok, but over full if I screw it in.
He also told me he has never heard of these thigns smoking when they are over filled.

I am a little worried, what do you guys think?

Yeah blue smoke is oil smoke. But if it is just doing it on start-up a little, I wouldn't worry to much. Could be a valve seal leaking a little oil until it gets warm and expands, but that will not be an issue or harm your engine.

As far as the oil level, that is the correct way to check it on most bikes, by not screwing it in.

On Kawi 4 wheelers, the owner's manual says you need to SCREW IN the dip stick to check the oil level. If you don't, you are over filling it.

Please help me understand why people don't read their owners manuals. If your manual says 2.0L oil with oil and filter change, drain the oil, replace the filter, and add 2.0L oil back into the quad. Check it as instructed by the manual to verify you did not screw something up and ride it. You overfilled it because you failed to read the manual. Then you blow out seals because of the increase in crank case pressure and whine because the dealer wants a grand to fix your quad when it would have taken an extra 5 minutes to read the manual and do it right.

I will now exit the soap box.

You know what, I didn't ask for your smart *** comment. So I got carried away and put a little too much in, lots of people do it, there is no reason to call someone stupid and say they are whining. I am not whining by any means, just asked a simple question of what might be the cause. I did pull the air filter last night, and it did have a nice trace of oil around the bottom of the seal, so I'm thinking the over fill is the culprit.

By the way, I did read the manual, hence the reason I screw the dipstick to check the level.

Too much oil in your oilfilter, high comp pistons, Wheeling, operating near rev-limiter, and hillclimbs will also make them smoke/dump oil in airbox in addition to overfilled oil.

I looked in my bf750 manual and I swear I can't find whether to screw it in or not so I just go 1/2 way between the two.

Unless it's a Trojan Horse, then look in it's mouth and it's belly or when you go to sleep they will slit your throat and take over your Kingdom.
