That's probably a good idea, sounds like you probably ride it like a sport quad anyway so I'll bet you'll be happier. Did you direct that towards me because I said in another thread that 1 reason I like the ex's is because they're pretty maintainance free ? (Paraphrased)

 

jamakn.....no, the rear tires are not locking up, it's working just like it's supposed to which is excellent. Wait til you put it in 4wd lo and start chugging down a steep trail....you will have to use throttle cause it's going too slow. You will get used to going down steep declines without ever touching the brakes, but you will see brake lights on the bikes ahead of you. There is just about no trail decline in these mountains that bother me cause I have great confidence in the KEBC....you will soon be very comfortable on your declines, just rolling along slow.

 

yeah, I guess I need to start getting comfy going a lil' slower...

I did try the low with the 4x4 and I know believe it can climb just about anything.

Put on the plow mount back on last night too, good thing, we just about 2-3" of snow last nite'..so I'm off to clear the drive way....

3" of wet snow on sunday and the 360 pushed it around no problem....

sorry but I too think you just got a bad draw and its a lemon...I have a friend who owns nothing but Honda's (yikes) and he says only other bike he likes are the Kaw Prairie's

I have an 02 650 prairie bought in 02 with a 3 year warrenty in 02 the caliper fell off at 45 miles. It took a month for parts. Then machine started dying at hot idle. It was in and out of shop for 3 months before they finally figured out it was the choke cable. In 03 the front end grenaded first they replaced the spiders only. This took a month only to get it home and find that the ring and pinion were also shredded.Finally after 5 months of downtime it was fixed. Now in 05 my 4x4 2x4 lights blink and 4x4 doesn't work I,ve had it in the shop 4 to 5 times since may they replaced speed sensor , cdi box, kebc acuator, 4x4 acuator. In Nov was the last time I got it back things worked for about a month. Now the 4x4 2x4 lights flash again I can pull fuse and It will work for awhile then start acting up. My warranty ran out on 7 22 05. I,ve contacted kawasaki told them my story asked to have warrenty extended , because my machine has been in the shop for approximatley 1 of the three years I,ve owned it. They refused and were very unsimpathic. I gave my local shop 600.00 to extend warrenty only to get a letter from kawasaki stating they would not extend warrenty.The machine currently has 103 hours 636 miles . Maybe you can get the recall done, get it running halfway decent, then trade it in to Kawasaki for a P700.

I have both as you can see below, no problems with either. Not one.

That doesn't help you though. Make it Kawasaki's problem, trade it in. You'll really like the P700, '04, '05, 06, they're all the same. I got 5 yr warranty for the price of 4 yr with no problem on a new '05 P700.

With the stock dunlops on the P700, you would really enjoy the power trying to bring the rear end around on you in 2wd......some people don't like it, but I think most of us do......4wd will take it out and it will still go like a striped a$$ ape. Hope you wind up with one.
