I am thinking about makeing the kfx 700 my next atv because while my prairie 650 is a good quad, i have a hard time keeping up with my buddys on the z 400's and raptors and yfz,s... If i was to buy a 700 what whould i have to do to it to give all of the above a run for there money in a 300ft drag on hard pack? at first i got made fun of for lineing up with them on the prairie but to there suprise if one of the 400's had a bad lanch i would genrealy take them... any info on what i would have to do for the kfx 700 to take them in 300 ft would be grate....
p.s.. will kawie be makeing a V700 in the near future?

The 700 is a great quad, but its a little heavy.
To Keep up with the 450 it will cost you. Exhaust, CDI, offset crank key, air box mod, .......Big Bore kit, Cams, Porting, Carbs. etc. What ever you do the 450 will still be there. In MO we watched a 750BF with a little add on's smoke a highly modified KFX 700 in the 300' Sand Drags. But the Yam 450 still wins.
You can put a exhaust system, clutch kit , air box mod, jet kit on the 650 and stay with a 700.
In Sand Drags I would run my 650 in 4x4 with limited slip lever pulled and stay with a lot of quads.
V700? The KFX is a twin, is that what you are talking about?

handycap, do you ever ride at St. Joe state park?
Does the guy with the BF ride there? I have a lightly modded kfx700 that I would like to run against it.
And ther is another member on here "zmann" he has a kfx700 with a "few" more mods than mine.
He rides down there from time to time. I'm sure he might want to race it as well.

hell no the brute force is not faster than a kfx 700. if you want to to beat a raptor then all you need is clutch spring and exhaust and correct jetting...any 400cc quad is a easy win but the 450s will require some serious money to beat becuz they are ready made racers. i bought the kfx becuz of the reliability of the quad and the shaft drive and ride height lets me go places other sport quads cant...and it will handle mud damn good with the right tires on the rear and still give raptors, stock banshees, and predators hell.

Last year at St. Joe State Park in MO. at a grudge Sand Drag, the Brute Force out ran the V-Force (KFX 700) in the 300' every time, unless you put a 70lb 12 year old on the V-Force.
The over all fastest quad in the 300' was the Blaster Yamaha on Alcohol with kids riding them.
Just drag quads.
I out run the V's with my 400 Polaris Trailblazer with a bunch of mods, no internal engine work, just add on's (not the BUBBA BIKE)
One other thing, It gets to the point where it is 95% rider and 5% machine, everyone has to hop up their quads, so you are not very often going to race a stock quad.
What ever you ride, what ever you build, someone will still beat you.
When I can't stay with them on the Trailblazer, get BUBBA BIKE out!
BUBBA has 17 to 1 compression on Alcohol with all the mod you can do, 85+ hp at crank and I still get spanked once in a while. This is a play quad not a full race quad.

My stock BF smoked a stock VForce. My V-Force (FOR SALE!!!) is damn fast. I kept up with a 250R Honda and lost by an atv link with a modded 450R Honda. Of course it all depends on your starts. Only thing I don't have done to my V is a different cdi, clutch kit, and hot cams. The biggest gain i have noticed from any V-Force that has had done work done to it is the advanced timing thing. I didn't use a degree key. I custom did it myself and went wayy bigger. It totally opens those Vs up. We had to call Kawasaki Tech one day about a BF750 problem we had at our dealership. The teck guy said that kawi had to "tone" down the 750 cause they were twistin drive shafts! They retarded the timing really far. Thats why you can buy that degree key to get that untapped power back. i just went a little further with mine. I slotted the igniter and actually moved it to a new position. Oh yea, its faster!! Also, take some stuff off. A lighter atv makes all the difference and the V-Force is a tank! I stripped a lot of stuff off of mine.

The only way a BF should be beating a V is if the race is on sand with stock tires and the BF is leaving the line in 4wd. I am not doubting that they are fast. I have ridden several of them. But, they are at least 75lbs heavier that a v-force. Also, the best mods to do to any of the Kawi bikes is clutch work. Just changing the primary spring on the Vforce makes a huge difference. Racing out at St. Joe on stock tires is not a good way to truly determine who has a faster bike. Traction is the key there. Race again on dirt and see how it goes for you.

I raced a yfz 450 today with a curtis sparks full system, and ripped him 4 out of 5 times.I also raced a z400 with high comp pistons and other crap and beat him by like 4 bikes and still leaving him.The v is a very fun, wheelie happy bike, and everyone who sees mine in action is really impressed. They read all theese dumb magazine articles and think they are atv pros.Please.Only cam modded bikes can beat my v, and my jetting is not nearly what it could be.........Fundy 730 coming soon...
