Default Clutch Trouble?

Last week I brought my 2003 KVF (Prarie) 360 4x4 to my dealer to get the Recall Done. I also asked him to check/adjust the belt, because it recently started to make some noise.
I called 2 days later, and he told me that the Recall was complete but my clutch was completly gone.
He started listing off all kinds of parts (Springs, Rollers, Shieves Ex. - I am not mechanically inclined, please bear with me) I asked him if there was anything I could have done to cause this. He said "not really, it is just natural wear."

The machine is not even 3 years old and he is telling me that I need to get about 1300$ (CDN) + Labour (@55$/h) worth of work done!
Can this be possible? Or am I getting ripped off?

Also, once I get a list of all the parts that I need, where is the best place to order online for a canadian order? I seen mention of RoyalDistributing, just wondering if there is any other place?

Thanks,
Jason Whelan

idot know anything about where to find parts but just some general adivice....all dealers anywhere will tell you thing are broken that really are not and/or will say they replaced parts and never do just to get your money.....i have had plenty of bad and money waising dealer expericences that i dont want to go into but anyways i would take your prarie to someone who is experienced with atv engines but not a dealer....pick up a serveic manual too, it will show you how to do all that your self because its not too hard and not worth paying some one $55 a hour....also just about every belt driven quad i have seen/rode makes some belt noise so i would say its pritty common and nothing to worry about as long as it dosnt feel like your clutch or belt is slipping

Like holeshot said, get a manual. Then tell the dealer you are gonna fix it yourself. If it is toast, you can always buy a comet clutch and put that on. A lot cheaper than a factory clutch.

have you ever had the belt changed on this machine?

the Kawasaki service manuals are very easy to understand and follow. kind of expensive but worth it.
