i have a 02 mojo...and i can shift from 1st to reverse without using the switch...i did take the reverse cover off and checked it out.. i turned the switch and watched the arm move back and forth...started it up and got it to work fine..but as soon as i put the cover on it does it all over againso what u think?

Take the cover back off, clean the area out real good and spray some good lube on it and let it keep soaking in around the shaft. I use to then spray it with white grease that you can buy at wal-mart for like $.96 Do the same thing with the reverse cable. I would do mine about every 6 months routinely just to be safe.
