I figured out what was wrong with the clutch plates being loose, but I still can't figure out why the kickstarter is SOOO dang hard to move down, and yet it doesn't move...nor does it come back...

Yeppers...It will go down maybe 3 inches or so? Then it gets stuck not moving anymore, then I have to pull it back up....

If the motor was in gear, would that make it extremely hard to kickstart?

Welp...Good news FINALLY!!! I got it to run...Ran it for probably 5 minutes or so...and whoa! Got smoke??? haha...Unfortunately the kickstarter still will not return back. Anybody know why? About how many times should I wind up the return spring? And also, the quad basically had a smoke cloud around it, blue smoke, Anybody know what all I need to get rid of this smoking????

do a compression check and go from there, look at the plug for oil, was the smoke sweet like anti-freeze?

What do you mean "sweet like antifreeze" ??? BTW, I worked on the motor today, and now I got the kickstart return spring to work now, so it returns to its original position, and replaced my kickstart idle gear. Now it kicks over quite easily. As for the smoking problem, it doesn't seem to have much smoke coming out of it now.... But I think I'm gonna change out the rings and gaskets, and wait to see from there. Shouldn't have much problem, and I don't know if this is a good sign or not, but I held my hand probably 3-6 inches away from where the spark plug hole is, and kicked it over, and it blew out A LOT of air. Almost as if a person blew all their air at my hand. Dunno though. I'll keep ya'll posted on how its going. Things are starting to look good for me though
