Praire 700 or BF 650i
I've narrowed down my search to these two quads. I like the looks of them both, even though i haven't ridden either. But i will before i buy don't worry. I would like to know how harsh the straight axle of the 700 actually is. Is it as bad as a honda or is it softer and more rider friendly. I've heard that the 700 is an awesome handling machine. But i also heard hte BF 650 is right on the 750's heels due to some diffrent things they do to the engine.
Any feed back would be great, any problems people have been having with these would be nice too. And also how easy are these too to work on? Clutches etc. And do they make aftermarket CDI's and other electrical componants for the 700? I know they do for the BF's but i've never heard of anything for the 700s. Thanks

It depends on the type of riding you prefere. IF your a fast trail rider, the prairie would probally be your best choice. It is the most sport quad like in the utility world. The ride is much better then you will find on a honda. It has one of the best powerplants in an atv. the kawasaki v-twins are bulletproof. If you want to do more technical riding were youll need more ground clearence. THe bf will be a better choice. It doesent have the best high speed handling but it is good. Dont think the prairie cant crawl and ride its way though rocks because it can. Just has a little less ground clearence. Both are awsome in tough situations so ask yourself what you will be using it for.
Yes, the prairie does have cdi's availible, they are the same as the brutes
remember, youll be using the kawasaki type tranny so using low gear when going slow, pulling, climinb, mudding, etc will be your best bet to keep the belt in spec and from burning up. good luck and feel free to ask if you need.

Thanks for the info guys. They both sound great and the info on the website was helpful. I guess all there is to do now is ride both of them. I'd say that i might vote for the 700 as of now. But who knows. Sounds like the 650i is a really nice machine too. Thanks again.

If you would be riding more on rocky/bumpy trails, get a 650i.
If you would be riding more on rather smooth trails, get a P700.
If you would be riding on 50/50, get a P700.
If you want a real plush riding, get a 650i.
If you care more about do-it-yourself maintenance issue, get a P700.
If you care more about reliability in general, get a P700.
If you are not sure on any of these, get both.
