Chances are the corrosion is already taking place. Pull the 4 bolts around the water pump out and pull off the lower rad hose. Then pull the water pump out as far as you can and twist it forward. You will be able to see the green goop and some corrosion on the hole where the water pump fits into. If you bought the kfx new then you'll still have warranty. Get them to change the cover. They will replace it with another magnesium cover. Make sure you buy some waterless or dionized water coolant. They will probably not warranty the coolant, but its fairly cheap.

The waterless coolant or dionized (which ever you choose) will not cause any more corrosion on the clutch cover. The water in the stock coolant is what is causing the corrosion between the aluminum engine case and magnesium clutch cover.
