CC1999, your exactly right, I found the same thing with clutch springs. If you gain a little on bottom it seems you lose a little on top. As of now I'm not running anything at all special. A red primary spring and that's it. I know it's hell on belts but when racing I brake it down and load the clutch/belt just before take off. It's knid of like starting with a trans. brake on a car. I've also found that I keep the front end down alot better and actually run faster times NOT spraying right out of the hole. I usually don't spray until I get about 15-20 foot out. I think it helps the tires "track up" better without spinning them so much and wasteing power. The next time I replace the belt I'm gonna pull the clutch and send it to vforcejohn from kawieriders. From what I hear he has these clutches down and knows exactly how to get your power to the wheels without costing you an arm and a leg. lol Have you pulled your engine brake fork?? If not that's a must and will help you out a little.

I have not yet. I just keep thinking that I need to pull the EBC. Its still in the shop from its crank bearing incodent back in march, april whenever it was, it seems forever ago . Its bottom end was actualy going back together today, the top end will be done by the end of the week. With any luck she may have life back in her by the end of next week. About the same time they will be putting the finishing touches on the Max. With any luck I will be able to test them both when I get back from riding up in Colorado next week.

I don't think so. I think that's the dg6 from diamond g racing. With the dg6 you can run the bike like normal or unplug the kebc actuator and run without engine braking. It also will take care of the 2wd 4wd lights from flashing if you've got a bad actuator. That is not what I'm refering to with the engine braking fork. The fork is inside the belt cover and constantly rides in the primary. Removing it does remove your engine braking but also allows your primary to spin without the added drag of the fork riding on it. So you don't actually gain any hp or torque you just free up what you already have. It's a great little mod that you can do in a few minutes. Some say they see great gains others say they don't see any. From my point of view the less friction the more power your getting to the ground.

i have a 2003 kawasaki prairie 650. recently put on a new full exhaust system - an hmf stainless head pipes penland pro system. got off ebay for about $550. very high quality, nice sound, much lower tone than previous DG performance exhaust, has a pretty good growl when accelerating but not nearly as loud as the DG exhaust that was on it. The header pipes are noticeably larger in diameter than the DG.

Highly recommend.
