Default HELP!!

I just bought a 2007 750 Brute Force and am having alot of problems with mud and water getting into the carbs. Does anyone know of anything that can be done to help keep water and dirt out of them without going to snorkels?? Also, what CDI do you recommend? Any other tips would be appreicated also.

Thanks

Mud and water getting into carbs...
Do as what a doc would say. If it hurts, don't do it (don't ride in a way that would cause this trouble). I know this sounds silly but why would you continue to do it if it does harm to your quad? By the way, how deep are you submarining the quad? I may have some solution for you depending on the depth.

Default HELP!!

Only driving through mud and water up to the top of my tires. I just got done talking to dealer, and he's claiming there might be engine damage. WTF? I've put Honda 300 and others through water almost to the handle bars with no prob. This is a 4 x 4 four wheeler right? Just wondering, because it sure doesn't act like it. I love the machine, but come on, if you can't drive 4 x 4 four wheeler in mud and water why even make one. Is this 4 wheeler that crappy of a design or is this a fluke?

I'm not anti Kawasaki, just extremely ticked off.

Default HELP!!

Every quad has own weaknesses.
And, unfortunately this is the major weakness in your and my 750. Did you say you submarine to the top of the tires? That will do it on our 750. Either home berewed or aftermarket intake snorkel kit seems to be the only solution for now. I just go aournd the mud holes knowing the weakness of my quad. Your dealer is right that once the mud and water get inside your engine, it can do lots of damage - especially the main rod bearings. Remove your air filter and look inside the throat of the twin carbs, and see if there is any trace of mud/water getting in there. Hopefully not.

Hayashi,

Good points here. Is this somewhat applicable to my 650 SRA Brute? I have only gone up to the floorboards a couple of time, and I always creep through it very slowly to minimize splashing and stuff.

Default HELP!!

Unfortunately, I pulled off the Air filter and everything and yes there was dirt in the carbs! I can't believe how crappy of a job Kawi did on that air box. They made it shaped like a funnel with the carbs right at the bottom so everything runs right down into them. I'm not a bomb (Can Am) fan, but at least they made their air box sealed and sitting up horizontal to help keep water out of the carbs. What the heck was Kawi thinking when they made this design? It's the worst design I've ever seen on a 4 wheeler. I've been looking around for a way to seal it off better, but only finding snorkels, which I really don't want to do. Thanks for the heads up Hayashi, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Bubba if yours is designed like our 750's, which I'm sure that it is, all I have to say is be careful. It doesn't take much to get any mud or water in your intake or carbs with that design that they made. It's a sad day to see that 4 x 4 doesn't mean you can actually use it like your supposed to.
