higher octanes wont do any good for stock motors. stick with 87 unless you decide to get a big bore, depending on how big you go. with an 800kit you should be running premium and can even mix some 110raceing fuel with 87. if you went 900 nothing but premium.

true but higher octanes can cause detonation problems in lower compression engines.

Higher octane fuels burn cleaner because they burn hotter. If you research fuels on google you will find that unless you have a big bore motor (High compression) they do require more octane to run right, you need to stick with the lower octanes so not to overheat your motor and lessen it's life by burning up valves. Detination does occure if the fuel is not correct and that is why your owners manual gives guidelines to follow based on stock motors.
