Your quad has two clocks, one in the dashmeter (137 hrs that you see) and the other hidden one inside the CDI. The 100-hr counting is done by the CDI clock not the dashmeter. Then, you may ask why aren't those 2 clocks counting the same hours? That's because the dashmeter clock counts even if the engine is not running as long as the ignition key is at the ON position. The CDI clock counts only if when the engine is running. The moral of the story is that "DO NOT" leave the key at the ON position if possible when the engine is NOT running so that those 2 clocks have the same amount of hours stored. Hope this explains.

Very good info. I wonder why they did it that way?

No, you can't read the hour reading (nor the min) of the clock inside the CDI. It's simply a counter that activates the belt light at every 100 running hour (at any running rpm). Remember those annoying "CHECK ENGINE" light that used to come on on some of the Japanese cars in the 80's even though there is nothing wrong with the engine but you can't pass the smog check if the light is on? The concept is same, reminding you to check.
