i was on asking some questions about three months ago on why i can only get the machine to start and run on the choke . and was told that old gas mite be a problem been thru the fuel pump fuel tank to check for dirt or old gas and that does not seem to be a problem. idle is turned up all the way. and still will not idle and when throttle is applied it does not run clear it definitely breaks up quite a bit. the machine was bought new by me and maintained by me but i think i have some kind deep carb problem . any help at all to get thru this will be awarded with cash if it is real help with real results .it also has a couple of other upgrades . that i would like to detail in depth over a phone conversation if anyone is interestd in passing some help my way 631 254 4725 warren thank you for any help you can offer me

The drain bowl is located at the very bottom of the carb set. You have two since it is a dual carb set and they are held by 4 small yellowish screws which are really tight. Use a right size screwdriver and becarefull not to strip the head of the screw.
If you want to see if a cheap trick would work, pour in some carb/injector cleaner (techron based) into the gas tank and ride the quad for 30 minutes or longer. Sometimes, this works if the gumming is not to severe. Like I said this is cheap trick and it may or may not work.
It would be the BEST if you get a factory service manual. It would be a real good investment for your and your quad.

i still am having a idle problem withh this 02 prairie and the both carbs are definetely clean and there is definetely not a stale gas problem here .removed tank and checked fulnnael petcock. i am thinking there is some kind of internal dirt or contamination that cant be reached bysimpy dissasembling and cleaning . wondering if there is any other carbs that will work without that much of a hassel to install.
