How fast you want to go?

There are several builders that sell big bore kits, Fundy Performance Sports, Four Stroke Tech, Chapman's, Cycle werks Racing, just to mention a few.

You can get anything from a 700 high compression stock bore, to a 916 stroker. There are 715, 730 785, 800, and a few others. I have a Fundy Performance Sports, 800 big bore, with porting, 36mm carbs, VDI Copperhead CDI, Diamond G Racing swingarm extension, LTE dual exhaust, set up for drag racing only.

I beat every 800 outlander I raced in the last two years, even before I got the big bore kit.

I'm about to go with a Fundy 730. I picked Fundy because of a friends experence with one of the others. After 3 motors from the other guys he went with Fundy and says their customer service is far and away superior and after spending several thousands of dollars on several motor I'll take his word for it. Also I've see 1st Quads time slips on an other forum and his bike is fast, for any bike. But for a 4x4 it's amazingly fast.

Why are you going with a 730 kit and not the 800?

I've been looking at the Fundys and the FST and am still undecided. I have been leaning towards the Fundy, but I'm thinking that if I'm going to spend that kind of money, what's a little more for the 800.

Interested in hearing your thoughts and anyone elses with experience regarding these kinds of builds.

The guys above will steer you straight, but I'm going to put in a plug for FST.

I've had all his kits since they first started and now have a FST900. Don't make the mistake of compareing FST's old kits to the new stuff, not even close.

The pistons and rods are stronger and lighter, gas ported, single ringed, flat topped. Cams are anywhere from a mild stage 1 to a wild stage 5 race cam.

Since going with the 900 kit, I no longer need a catch can or an overflow for the rad.

For me, FST's customer service has been better than having a extended warranty. He has fix my motor twice, paying shipping both ways, for a problems that had nothing to do with his kits. Just last month he sent me a FREE set of drag pipes, he saw a vid of my bike and through it wasn't reving high enough.

About once or twice a month, he'll call up and check on how things are going with the motor, he called just an hour ago. I guess that's what I call customer service.

Shotgun is correct, all of the builders listed will do right by you. It's just a matter of personal preference as to who you decide on. Hopefully this info helps you to decide on getting a big bore, and having some fast fun!
