05 700 prairie burning oil

Default 05 700 prairie burning oil

anyone have a problem burning oil? I went riding in deep snow the other day and mine burnt 8 oz of oil , prob only went 30 miles. It has been using oil noticebly from 900 miles on , i now have 1440 miles on it. any suggestions?

Default 05 700 prairie burning oil

Do a compression and leak down test. That will tell you lead you in the right direction to find out witch cylinder or if both cylinders are doing it . It could be a few different reasons. One could be rings, another could be valve seals. Its not uncommon for a stuck ring to cause this. Can you notice any smoke coming out of the exhaust?
