LOL..... This dude cracks me up..... STEVE seems to be the only smart @$$ on this post. He asked a question and people give their experiences and advice. In turn, he calls them all liars!!!! Hopefully he sticks with the Honda forum for here on out. Sounded like plugging a hole was too challenging of a feat. You know, an outboard motor would probably be a better fit!!!

I will ask one final question only for the benefit of people considering buying one of these Kawasaki ATV's. All I ask is an honest answer for people who are going to lay down their hard earned dollar. Is their an OPEN vent tube that leads to the drive belt just below seat level that is routed in a way that would make it vulnerable to deep (not completely submerged) water and mud when the ATV is in the upright position? Answer this question however you like honestly or not. I really don't care I am just trying to save other people a headache. If you do know of a fix for this perhaps some type of after market snorkel please post it here. I am not downing this ATV it is a great machine it just has to stay out of the deep end where the big boys play! Thanks, Steve

Ok i came across this forum and thread... hi im new here... and after reading I have to comment... so now im a member
TODAY less then 5 hours ago I rolled my 05 prairie 360 backwards down a creek embankment it flipped when it hit the watter askewed... and wound up a floater UPSIDE DOWN in the middle of the creek, bobbing for atleast 1 - 2 mins while i regained myself cursed and ran down into the creek to set her upright...
While upside down i vaguely remember the quad running... Things went fast and i was in pain so i dont know... however I flipped the quad over..... Started it in waist deep dater... and rode for over a mile in waist high water... we are talking a inch or 2 above seat height.....
At one point the quad was totally submerged at which time it shut off.....
I swam it down stream to where it was a bit more shallow and she started right up!!!!! I thought this quad was fried....
I then continued to ride it the remaining mile or so to a spot where i could easily get the quad out of the creek... I made it safely however my handlebar on the left side was bent down to the ground....
I rode on the trails home...... opened her up many times to try and push any water out that may have gotten in... no difference in performance... the ride home was atleast 2 - 3 miles additional.... during the ride i tested as best as i could with a bent bar my steering and handling.... everything seems great actually but im still worried.... I got home let her sit and went out multiple times to check systems and see if she starts right up and runs well... everything is A OK..
Can anyone tell me what I should do next? Everything seems fine so can i keep on riding? Literally the quad was under water upside down once...
and totally submerged right side up stalled and started back up another time... and then the long haul home in deep waters... my knee is busted up! lol but all i can think about is the quad!
what does everyone think?
Im amazed that i even have my quad at home, and i got to ride it there. When i saw it upside down bobbing in the water I totally was like there goes alot of dough.... im VERY VERY SURPRISED and impressed!

I have a P300 and never had any problems with water in the clutch housing until a few weekends ago. Water was a little deeper than expected and went over the fenders and seat. Been in water up to the fenders previously but never had a problem. Couldnt move until i removed the plastic hose piece from the back and stood the quad up to drain what seemed to be a small pond from the housing. Ran without that tube for about 10 minutes, put it back on and was ready to ride again. Not sure why they didnt put a drain in them.
