The LTZ500 will never be touched by any factory machine, ever again .....
The thing was scary fast, and got Suzuki in a lot of lawsuit trouble back in the day.... No factory will ever make anything that fast off the floor again because the lawyers would have a field day ....
The Renegade would not touch a 500 in the proper traction conditions... The 500 was about 325 pounds, that as much as a Blaster by today's standards.
That's a power-to-weight ratio that is just off the scale for today's machines ............

yamaha was told they couldnt make the 660r anymore due to the dangerous high setup and the power, but they found a loop hole. instead they said they wouldnt make the 660 raptor, and they came out with the 700r raptor. talk about a real bad day for some lawyers.

the zilla is by far the fastest bike ever produced. I had one for several years and I kick myself every time for selling it. it was an awesome bike and I will always miss it. one day when I hit the lottery I will buy another lol. as for the hospital factor its definatly there, it sent me several times the people in the ER knew me by name =) I believe after that bike there were some laws incorporated into atv building that required that nothing be built like it again. its a lizard that will never be matched.

LT500R by far the fastest to date. i thought the weight was a little higher though? i know the original 250s were under 300 but then they revised it in 87 and it went up over 300 so how can the 500 weigh the same as the 250? anyway....
500s are very fast. they dont call it quadzilla for nothing. oneday i will get one if i run across a good one. i remember reading when they first came out that suzuki had to detune it and regear it because the prototypes were hitting well over 100mph and they did not want to sell it to the public that fast. officical time trials from 1988 put it about 80mph but im sure with the right tuning you can can it back up to 100 without allot of work. i used to hear of 100 out of these things all the time.
of course, dont discount the banshee, in the same test in 1988 it went 77mph (of course it had 22" rear tires back then, factor that in with the tire growing factor in drag racing), so getting it faster is not too terribly hard either.
i havent seen a renegade run in person yet but to go that fast on a 600lb machine is something.
