650 prairie Dyna tek cdi?
#1
Any one running a Dyna tek cdi box? How much better did the bike run after? And are they worth the $200.00? When I bought the bike it had moose module on it and I took in off and didn't notice any difference.

rehm436,
The moose mudule only make a difference when you flog the throttle from 0-3 mph. Under normal riding, you can't tell it is there. The CDI improve the entire rpm band, and does make a noticable difference. It also removes the reverse override, raises the rev limiter (increasing top speed), helps the bike start easier, run cooler, and is definitely worth the money. It is like going from a P 650 to a P 700.

The moose module is not a complete timing recurve device. It changes timing at the crack of throttle. Dynotech eliminates the reverse overide and eliminates limp mode for the belt system. Well worth the money when combined with other mods.

I have the Dyna CDI and the bike sputters. I was told that this is a side effect of this CDI. I will say that this bike will get up and go when called for. Rad fan is definitely off more, no reverse limp mode, 100 hour belt rest gone. That engine miss is a **** off though.
