Bayou 300 Reverse Lockout **** Deactivated
I just bought a 1995 Kawasaki Bayou 300 2x4 with manual tranny. The Reverse Lockout **** has been deactivated.
First, Is that a good thing?
Second, would that have been done by cable adjustment, or what needs to be done to reactivate the Lockout feature?
As always, all help appreciated.....

Bayou 300 Reverse Lockout **** Deactivated
In the event someone reads this and has a similar situation with a deactivated Reverse Lockout ****, I found the solution. It is a simple adjustment of the Reverse Lockout Cable. Near the foot shift lever, the Lockout cable has two 10mm nuts that can be adjusted. Take out the cable slack and the Lockout **** can be deactivated so you can shift into reverse without turning the ****. Allow slack and the **** does its intended job, keeping you from accidentally downshifting into Reverse..... Hope this helps!
