Default Prairie 300 wheels

I was looking at getting new tires for my 2002 prairie 300. Either some Mud lites or 589's. I read somewhere that the stock 12"rims off a BF 650 would fit the prairie 300 but for the life of me cant find the post. Said that my wheels are steel and the BF was aluminum and would be better. Anyone got any info on this....

I put the 26" 589s on my 300 Prairie with a lift kit. I lost some speed, but didn't mind since I rarely run wide open any how. They are very durable and hold up well. I am not sure of the bolt pattern on the BF 650, so I can't help out much there.

Thanks for the reply. How wide did you go with the front and rear? Where did you get your lift kit (is it necessary with the 26" tires). I dont think ive ever had mine at wide open throttle so not really concerned with losing top end speed. Looking for a good mud/trail tire. How are the 589's in the mud?

Thanks again

Going to a larger tire will increase top-speed(unless the power just isn't there) and decrease acceleration.
