When i put the bike in gear the bike takes off by itself. It will only do it every so often. I took the drive belt cover off and on top of the cover their is a sensor riveted into it. Does anyone know what that sensor is for? My 4x4 light is blinking when i turn the bike on. I was thinking that maybe the sensor is for when the belt gets to loose it trips the switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The sensor switch on that black CVT cover is for the belt - in case it breaks or just stretches out too much.
The blinking 4x4 light has nothing to do with the above switch, but has something to do with the bike taking off by itself. First make sure your idle rpm is in spec. If idle is not too high and still takes off, the engine brake actuator finger is engaged/extended when it is not supposed to. When it engages, it pushes in the drive sheaves and grabs the belt - the result is taking off by itself. Either the control unit for the engine brake or the engine brake actuator (stepper motor) has gone bad.

Is the engine brake actuator finger the piece with two white plastic ends that contacts the Drive gear. The plastic tips are worn down on them, Could that cause the sheaves to engage? Have you seen the stepper motor or control unit go bad? Is there any way that i can electrically check the motor? It seem to be working fine. It sure does make a lot of noise when you turn it off, but i guess it has to reset itself. ANy help is appreciated. Thanks
