Could be something wrong in your charging system. Assuming your new battery is good and charged. Check all the wiring, makes sure nothing is unplugged and that all the connections are in good shape. File them or sand them down to bare metal.

Default BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE

If you pull the wires while its running it should still run, so I would think your charging system is pooched.

Default BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE

kawasaki bikes will not run without a battery,if you have a voltmeter checkat the battery terminals what the dc voltage is with it running,it should br 13 to 14 volts.if its lower than 12 your regulator is the likley the problem

Default BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE

I've changed the battery in my 03 P650 3 times since I bought it new. All Kawaski Quads no matter what size (WILL RUN) with no battery if the quad is already running. If the engine shuts down when you disconnect the battery (either lead) then you have a problem with the regulator/ rectifier, stator or alternator and the charge should read 11.5 - 12.4V with the idle at 1800 RPM. I know this because I have the Service Manual!

12.8V or higher=good
12-12.5V = insufficient charge
12V and/or lower = unservicable/ replace

When you go to purchas a battery, there is the regular type (refilling the battery with electrolyte) and checking fluid level every 3mos. and an AGM sealed battery which requires no maintenance

Default BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE

The majority of atv's have a generator(not alternator) and should run even without a battery(pull start), not quite sure about efi bikes.

Default BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE

every engine I've ever ran across incl. farm tractors, rigs, motorcycles, quads, generators cars, trucks, mining tractors etc. that have a battery no matter if it's EFI or has a carburetor, will run w/o a battery unless the rectifier, stator or alternator is defective. If there is another type of engine that wont run w/o a battery connected, I haven't seen it but would like to know.
