Default Different voltage regulator

Thinking about putting a different voltage regulator to give me more juice, Want to add heated hand grips and gps. Will this work and will it hurt the electrical system?

All a regulator does is regulate the voltage. If your quad has an alternator, you may want to take the alternator to a shop to have it rebuilt to turn out more amps/volts. Or get a new alternator. Then all you'll have to worry about is re-setting or buying a new regulator (rectifier). Your best bet is to do like I did and buy a 14Ah AGM battery (sealed) and connect your additional accessories straight to the new battery. The rectifier will do its thing with everthing that's already connected to it. I haven't had any trouble yet. I put my 14Ah battery in 2 weeks ago and have a WARN 2.5 winch and 55W back-up lights (toggle) connected to it. The only difference I've noticed with the larger amperage battery is stronger starts in cold weather which is a big plus.

Model : GS GTX20L-BS Battery from motorcyclebatteries usa.com.
I mounted the battery in my rear storage trunk in the very center and attached extra battery cables to the factory battery cables w/ non-insulated couplers from JC Whitney then used wire loom tubing for the cables and finally electrical tape around the loom for an air-tight fit. I used roof flashing sealant to seal where the battery cables go into the trunk.

Hence, the aftermarket 12V/18Ah battery was to big to go back into the stock location and I picked the AGM (sealed type) battery for 2 reasons. 1 being it has more cold crankings amps and 2 I wont have to refill with well water (well water from a coal vein has electrolytes) every 2-3mos. like I did with the other type. It was a bit more expensive ($10-$20) but is hassle-free.
