Take the plastic cover off of the left side of the engine (not the dipstick door - the cover around the door). You will find your filter there. I use Shell Rotella 5w/40 Synthetic diesel oil in mine. I'll probably get some hits as to why that's wrong...but "oh well". Since it doesn't have a wet clutch, you can get away with using about any oil. I'd probably use 10w/40 in it during the summer. Maybe 20w/50 if it gets really hot where you're at. 5w/30 if you ride in the snow.
Hope that helps.

No problem...you have to take the right floorboard off (flaps front and rear along with the screws that hold it to the lower mounts). 10mm socket will take the bolts that hold the cover off. I think the book says to take the brake pedal off, but you can usually loosen the cable and just push the pedal down...I think it will clear. I don't know if you know the belt specs, but the minimum width is 28.8mm or 1.134". If the belt is in spec., place a straightedge across the top of the belt from pulley to pulley. Then push the belt down firmly and measure the "deflection". It should be 25-30mm max. (.984"-1.181") If it's looser than that, you'll have to take the driven clutch off and take shims out.
Hope that helps.
