timing chain slaping? kfx400 2005 runs great just tick tick tick please help

Default timing chain slaping? kfx400 2005 runs great just tick tick tick please help

my sons 2005 kfx400 has slack in the timing chain between the cam gears each time it rotates it slaps the timing chin roller on top chain is tight and i have the recomended links between gears. please help.

Are you sure its the timing chain? Pull out the adjuster and see how many clicks are left. Might need to get a new chain installed. Should be 15 pin across from intake and exhaust cam with the engine being set at TDC(Assuming it has stock cams).

i have the 15pins the adjusters is all the way out i orderd all new tensoners and chain with new piston today gonna just redo it all. he like the atv and can out run everyone he has ran like it is ds650 yzf450 raptor banshees thanks for the help.
