Default 97 Lakota carb issue?

My boss just bought a very clean very low mileage 97 lakota(like 50 miles on it)

Carb has been gone through before he bought it.
Problem is a major hesitation when you gas it off of idle especially on a cold start up. It gets better when the quad warms up.

What do you lakota guys think, wrong pilot jet, or possibly just a mixture screw?

my lakota has never ran right when it was cold, but after the engine warms up it runs great. Also, when I first got it (new) it was overjetted. I think it had a 136 main jet. I dropped it to a 134 and that was with a K&N filter and aftermarket exhaust. Best of luck to your boss.

Did you ever figure out the problem???

I doubt it had anything to do with the idle circuit at all if the problem is "just off idle". The first thing I would check is the air filter and all airbox connections and seals. Did someone put a KN air filter in or something???? If nothing there.... I would check the valve lash next.

what I have read about these Lakota's is this is a very common thing, seems that even when tested new that this problem could occur, said that it must run for several minutes on half choke while engine warms up, then will run fine all day long once warmed, I think it has to to with the more performance cam that was installed in the lakota's, allowing the engine to breath better but only when "once warmed up". I have learned to pull choke all the way turn it over a couple times when it starts back choke down to half choke let it idle for 3 minutes then it's ready to go with no hesitation,
