Currently working on a 2005 600 sportsman. Apparently the winch worked until the machine was flopped on it's head. now it does not. i checked what i thought were the obvious things, and the switch while scratched, was not broken.
Is there some sort of safety feature that would render this dead, or maybe an inline fuse that I need to be looking for ?

I am not even sure if the roll over is even related to the winch not working, but it does seem like a strange time to stop.
By the way, it's a warn winch, and it appears that it was installed from the factory ?

First apply 12 volts directly to the winch and see if turns or not. If it does, check the contactor and the switch wiring.

 

yes there is a relay, ( or controll box) trace the main cables to it
