suspension mojave/lakota
#1
I was wanting to upgrade my shocks on my Kawasaki Lakota but I dont want to fork out the cash for a new set of shocks from works. I have been watching ebay for some time and the only shocks that I see for this quad are stock. I was wondering if anyone knows if any shocks from other atv's will fit. I dont want the atv to be any higher, but it could go a tiny bit lower without bothering me. I am pretty sure that the height of the rear shock is 15.75 inches to the center of each eye, and the fronts are 15.00 inches. I dont know about the diameter of each eye or the width of the mounting area. I would love some help so I can find a more cost efficient upgrade. Thanks.

Ya, mojave parts fit on the lakota just if you didn't no but also look at some google websis and try to find used or new shocks for cheap if you haven't done that yet. But other than that there really isn't any other thing you can d oto find new shocks,

Thanks KawiMojave, but I was wondering if any atv shocks other than the lakota/mojave will fit. I read somewhere that the rear shock will fit off a 250R. Well it didnt specify what year or even if it was the honda atc 250R, honda trx 250R, kawasaki ninja 250R, or suzuki LT 250R. When I did some digging on works shocks website they have a fit chart that tells the lengths of shocks for different manufactures, models, and years. The things it doesnt show is the mounting width or the eyebolt diameter. The front shock mounts on mine are 13/16" wide and the bolt is about 7/16" diameter. Rear has top mount 1 1/2" and bottom 1 1/8" bolt diameter is also 7/16". I know that it probably uses all metric stuff but I dont have a metric tape measure. Also I did these measurements without actually removing the shocks so they may not be exact. Any help would be awesome!!! KawiMojave- what kind of shocks are on yours and where did you get them? How dies it ride?

Thanks for the response Liquidxt. I can only adjust the spring compression on my stock shocks. Also if I do a decent size jump, it bottoms out. So I have my suspension on the stiffest setting on the rear to minimize bottoming out. The suspension can sometimes be a pain to adjust also. I am hoping for some dual or triple rate shocks so I can get a smooth ride with better trail handling and if I do some jumps I wont bottom out. I want to get a better ride than this bike has to offer with its stock suspension. I know a lot of newer sport atvs come with some very nice suspension (for stock).
