breaking 650 Kaw news
#23
I have a 98 Priarie 400 that I pull a brush mower over rough ground for hours in low gear in very hot weather and the belt has always worked as advertised. I also took my Kawi in on the belt recall and the belt looked new. I never had a problem with the belt despite the hard work I put it through. The new 650 is going to be a great machine. I look forward to riding one

Since they put the replacement belt on it, I've had no troubles. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If I can get a higher quality belt that will work on my wheeler, I'd like to have one. The belt that came off the wheeler was worn on the outer edges and just didn't look to me like it could take serious punishment like those described with these sleds. Where can I get one of these Dayco belts if I should need one? Do they manufacture one that will fit this Prairie?

As long as you do not have EBS a sled belt will fit. They come in all sizes so you will get one that fits.Go to any place that sell sleds and ask about a Dayco Belt or a Goodyear Belt.

With all the comparisons of ATV's to snowmobiles it's a little reassuring. Nonetheless, I'm still sour from my last experience with belt drives. (Maybe it was Polaris all together, Who knows?) But, until I actually see a belt system that is continuously out performs a manual clutch or an auto clutch in the reliability category, then I'll be sold.
I still wish they would offer an option for an auto clutch. Some people like to shift.
