When I start my 06 650i with the engine cold (no choke). I usually give it a tiny bit of throttle so it is like an elevated idle and it will make a clicking noise and then 3-4 seconds later it will do it again. I have only noticed this when the engine is cold. Any ideas if this is normal?

Also, what is the proper way to start it while the engine is cold? I usually start it with no choke.

 

Clicking, switching, sliding gate closing noise is normal. KEB (Kenetic engine brake noise. They all do it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
