Hello,

I just purchased a KFX90 for my son to ride and its a dog. Can anyone tell me how to remove the speed restrictor from the Tranny? I would love to get a little more power from this bike.

First you will have to remove the balck plastic on the kickstart side, take the kickstart off remove all the bolts from around the belt housing. Once you get inside to the clutch remove the front (pully) with an impact wrench. when you remove the belt from the boss a small ring shapped shim will come off it sits right under the belt on the boss. take that off and put it all back together and your good to go.

I didn this on my sons kfx90 and his top speed went from 15mph to about 30-32mph

What a difference! Do you do any other mods?

 

I myself have not done any other mods to it yet, But I have read that there is a rev limiter override mod you can do. Check the below forum link out and read thru that thread there might be some information in there of use to you.

Two things you need to do to make that thing move. You need to dial in that CVT clutch in and you need a new CDI box(higher rev limit). My sons KFX50 isnt going going to beat a TRX90, but you would be suprised.
