My first Brute Force ride

My first Brute Force ride
I finally got my new Brute out today and am amazed that ATV riding could be like this. Here, I have always thought that you were supposed to get mud covered and get beaten up by the trail so that for the next 3 days, you KNEW you went trail riding. Boy, I was wrong!!! LOL
I am very, VERY pleased that I upgraded to the 2006 Brute Force 650i. OMG!!! What a difference from my 04 Wolverine!
I put 20 miles on it today and since it was in the upper 40's, everything was thawed and muddy. This didn't slow down the Brute, in fact, the Brute seemed to thrive on the muddy trail as if it were hungry for the mud. As for rider protection, I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I got back to the truck, I wasn't covered in mud like I'm use to after riding the Wolverine.
I also have to admit, I wish that I made this upgrade a lot earlier. I was absolutely thrilled about how this quad handled the trail. The IRS makes the ride incredibly softer and as a friend of mine mentioned, "Once you go IRS, you'll never go back." As for the body roll that many have noticed with the IRS, I did not have any negative experiences with this today and some of the trail was off camber and up and down some good hills.
Now, for the power of the 650i, all I can say is WOW!!! I'm still a little speechless at how responsive the throttle was. There was a section of trail that runs along a gravel road. Well, curiosity got the better of me and I had to hop onto the road and open the quad up. This was a straight gravel road that gradually went up hill. This quad shot up the road like a race car and when I started backing off of the throttle, (which the quad still seemed to be gaining speed) I looked down and saw that I was going 54 mph...I chickened out before finding top speed...LOL Gives me something to look forward for another day.
Hope you all don't mind me rambling, but I had to share an awesome day on the trail.
