MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE. I HAVE A NEW PRAIRIE 400 4X4. I HAVE RODE IN THE SNOW AND ON THE LAKES. I NOW HAVE 17 MILES. WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE OIL? AND WHEN IS THE BREAK IN OVER?

Your owner's manual will show you when to service the various parts, and tell you how to break it in properly. If in doubt, contact your dealer. Nice quad, isn't it?

Welcome to the family of happy 400 prarie owners. I was told to ride mine at 1/2 throttle for the first ten hours- but I don't remember what after that-oops.
Any ways, whats it like to ride on a frozen lake? can you get going fast then cut the wheel and side slide while giving it some gas? just curious.
p.s. before you get near mud and water give your transmission intake and exhaust hoses a good tug to make sure they were tightened correctly at the factory. My intake hose popped off with a light tug- tighten them up and it will save you some grief.

dAVE C. WINTER RIDER IS COOL. RIDING THROUGH THE SNOW COVERED WOODS AND TO THE ICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE. I HAVE HAD MY PRAIRIE UP TO 25 MPH. I EVEN PULLED MY BUDDIES SP 500 OUT OF SNOW. I'M GLAD YOU REPLIED, I WANT TO HERE ABOUT OTHER PRAIRIE OWNERS BREAK-INS. TO ANSER YOUR ? THIER IS USUALLY SNOW ON THE LAKES, YOU COULD DO "****TY'S" ON A HOCKEY RINK. TAKE CARE DAVE C.

Hows the lakes over there?The lakes here are kind of slushy this year so it,s hard to get the speed up like most other years .I have some lake riding pictures below, can you put some picture up to compare the condition over where you are?

dear tim, the lakes have been slushy in northern mn too. the guys with there ice houses usally plow a road which helps. if i wasnt so busy coaching hockey i would be out more. i love the pics, i don't have any yet. the blue "kodiak" is so cool, a guy i work with has one. a dealer close to the border got a blue one by mistake and my buddie snapped it up.
