Seat Removal on 99 Lakota 350
#2
remove the rear section of the plastics, not the seat.. its like 4 bolts, and the seat is attached..
BUT, you don't have to remove the plastics to get the carb in and out...
from the right side (as you sit on the bike) you'll need a LONG phillips,#3 will work, and a 3-4" straight slot, and a pair of pliers
1: turn off the fuel and remove the fuel line. All the rest of the lines are the carb are vent/vac - this is from the left
all the rest is from the right
2: remove the throttle dust cover
3: LOOSEN, not remove, the worm clamps, in front and behind the carb - should rotate a bit
4: remove the throttle cable (raise cam up, slide cable OUT, CAREFUL, small widget in there on the cable)
5: pop to the airbox side of carb "boot" off.. this one is a B to get back on
6: pull carb off manifold "boot" note index mark.
Now, TAKE PICTURES of the top and bottom of the carb, noting location of the attachment points for the idle cable/adjust
rebuild as normal
reverse to get it done
PUT IN AN INLINE FUEL FILTER
change the oil

Thank you. I'll give this a try. My initial problem is my Carb. is leaking from the drain tube. In other words, gas is seeping out the drain tube. I've tightened the drain tube screw but it continues to leak (only when the engine is not running).
Any ideas of why? Is the float stuck in the open position? I have no idea.
Thanks
Greg
