Default more winch problems

I am having more winch problems that I have ever expected. I bought a gorilla winch xtr 3000lb winch. All worked well then then one of my wire ties broke and a wire for the winch got against the exhausted and melted the wire. Got the new wire tested it before i put everything back on the wheeler and all worked great. Mounted everything up and now the out switch will not work. The in works fine but the out is not
Any ideas?

just free-spool your cable out- I don't think i've ever used my out switch, just the free-spool & in switch.

it actually was bound up causing it to wind the opposite way once it reached the point that it was off the drum
