had some power problems with my second hand bf750
the previous ownes had put in a switch to switch the ventilator on and off, sinds I was putting my warn winch 30xt from my previous quad (a grizzly 660)i planed to make everything original again.
when every thing was back in place i discovered that the battery would not charge any more bought a new rectifier, still no charge so I removed all the fenders and more to have a good look at the wire's when i measured de power at the radiator switch there was 12 v but that was 0,5 volts less then the battery? and when i decided to short the wires (like the radiator switch does when its hot) there was no one home 12 direct at the fan worked.
so I looked at the wire diagram to find out wat the problem was everything looked normal then i discoverd some weird looking square blocks within the wire harnas when I pulled on the wires entering the first block (there are 3 in total) the wire came straight out and the second one as well.
these blocks are used to connect multiple wire's together like four grounds and 4 + wire's
in the cover of these blocks there are some bridges that connect the wire's
so I cut of all the wire's (after checking their function of course) and put them together by soldering coverd it with self vulcanising rubber tape and tested the whole lot, it was charching fine now even the raditor fan worked again, the rest of the remaining blocks got the same treatment (better safe then sorry).
the problem with these blocks is that the side where the wire's go in there is no rubber preventing water or dirt getting in, so the wires were oxidised and rusted away.
Now every thing is oke again, but if you have strange electrcal problems this is at least one of the places to look.

The problem you found has been often discussed here 100 times or more. You just rediscovered it. The white plastic connector (size of a small match book) is called aka "rear BUS connector". Corrosion at the connector causes shorting between (+) and (-) wires. What you did is right by separating the wires and re-group them - that's what factory did later. This problem is most likely to occur on 05 and 06 carbed 750s.
