02 prairie 650 backfires

cranks and idles fine, give it gas and it backfires through carbs and exhaust. Have already adjusted valves and new plugs . Any help would be appreciated. Has 4000 miles on it and it looks like somebody stole it.

Check the timing, and for intake/exhaust leaks.
