Default Brute Force 650 Shock Problems

Hey ya'll. I have a 07 Kaw 650 solid rear axle and the monoshock is leaking. I cannot find one anywhere for under $700 and I refuse to pay that. I'd like to rebuild it or buy a much cheaper aftermarket shock if they exist. Anyone out there who can help with advice/ suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes there are I think 2 companies that do them. Works is one and I'll have to think a bit about who the second is.

Elka but you may be talking more $.The new shock for the 09 looks cheaper than the one on yours, that may be a possibility.

Both 07 and 09 BF650 SRA quads use exactly the same Kawi P/N 450140028 rear shock assembly. They look same and they cost same. This part first came out in 2003 and has not changed any.

08 is diff. from 09 from what I have seen it at my dealers shop and I questioned him about it . I could not understand it ,it looks just like a regular shock no resevoir. Maybe kawi did not change the part # or something ( I think they cheaped out).I will double check but I know it was on a 650 SRA.

Below is a photo of new 2009 BF650 SRA from a showroom.
The rear shock has a reservoir just like any other year 650 SRA.
The parts-rule is that P/N always changes if there is a change in part (especially something as major as deleting a reservoir from the shock).
Well, Kawi did not cheap out, did they? How could they when when they charge so much for it!
