Default 05 prairie 360 Missing/Sputtering

Working on a 05 prairie 360 that seems to be missing almost like the reverse speed limiter is kicking in. The machine idles fine and the carb is clean. It does this in both forward and reverse and will not go above about 5mph then you give it a little more gas and it starts to miss/sputter and will even back fire. Any ideas? Thanks, Jason

Sounds like the limp mode is engaged. My '06 360 did this earlier this year. On the drive belt side of the bike on the frame above the convertor cover there are two sets of wires, one with a black connector and one set with a gray connector. With the switch off dissconnect these and hook black to gray on both sets. Turn switch on for 7 seconds and then turn off. Reconnect the wires to normal black to black etc..
If it goes back into limp mode fairly quickly then the drive belt deflection switch has been activated inside the convertor housing
