Sure enough the head gasket was leaking on the t-stat side causing the cooling system to overheat. Mickey @ FST told me that OEM gaskets should be used, not Cometic like I did. Hopefully that should take care of my overheating and loss of coolant problem. I'm also going to rering and have a valve job done while it's apart. I'll keep everyone posted.
