Unhappy 2003 Bayou 250...all of the sudden won't start

Rode the quad a couple days ago in 20 degree weather for about an hour. Everything seemed fine.

Went to ride again today. Turn ignition to ON, turn gas ON, give it full choke, battery is fully charged (and new...5 months old), hit the start button, she starts right away.

Let it warm up for about 5 minutes bumping the choke down as it warms up. With choke completely off I shift into first gear and try to give it gas...she dies.

Now the neutral light is no longer iluminated and the electric start does nothing.

Also, can not pull start it. Does not seem to even want to try to start.

Fuse by the battery is OK.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Pushdownon the shifter like your downshifting and see if the light comes on. That could be a neutral position sensor. If not it may be an ignition switch problem. Thats where I would start.

LongBeard, thank you. I broke one of my own rules of making sure to look for the simple things first (not the first time I've broke that rule). You were 100% right. Even though I could roll the quad...indicating it was in neutral...I pushed down on the shifter just now and BAM neutral light came on and I'm now good to go.

Thank for taking the time to respond.

Awesome. Even a blind hog finds an acorn every one in a while.
